Bolster Citizen’s Growth and Expansion

Los Angeles, September 28, 2015 – Citizen Relations, the award-winning global public relations and integrated marketing communications firm, announced today the appointment of Christian Chamberlin to Managing Director, AsiaPacific, based in the firm’s newly expanded Hong Kong regional hub office.  Previously, Chamberlin was General Manager of Citizen’s U.S. operations with offices in New York, Los Angeles and Irvine (Orange County).

“Our Asia expansion is a key driver for our global growth plan, and a desire from many of our clients,” said Daryl McCullough, Global CEO, Citizen Relations. “We’ve secured expanded mandates in the region and Chris is now actively leading the operations, ensuring we will deliver the same great design and execution work pan-regionally throughout Asia as we have led from North America. Chris’ role will be to lead wholly-owned operations and strategic partnerships through the region, including direct collaboration with BlueFocus and BlueDigital, Citizen’s new parent company assets in mainland China.”

Citizen Relations also announced today new roles for existing executives and new hires that secure its service offering across five global regions. In addition to Chamberlin, these announcements included:

  • Nick Cowling, President, Canada, consolidating his leadership of the firm’s offices in Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal and Quebec City. Cowling will also assume responsibility for business development and marketing for North America.
  • Mark Cater, Managing Director, EIMEA (Europe, India, Middle East and Africa), who joined Citizen last fall in London and continues to bring his extensive global and pan-regional experience to this role, also now assumes global client leadership responsibility for Citizen’s work with Procter & Gamble.
  • Jennifer Stansfield, Group Director, Multicultural/Vice President, Latin America, rejoined the firm this year to lead Citizen’s Latin American hub operations and other U.S.-based multicultural efforts, including U.S. Hispanic and North American diversity practice work, from her base in Los Angeles.
  • Robert Villanueva, Vice President, Finance, a long-time finance leader from Golin, recently assumed the global role and is also based in Los Angeles. Villanueva, who brings extensive global experience to this role for Citizen has a dual-reporting role with Citizen’s parent company, Vision7 International.

Together, with McCullough and long-standing Global Chief Operating Officer, Cynthia Rude, based in Southern California, these leaders now comprise the Citizen Global Executive Committee. One other team member playing a consultative role is Hasan Khair, based in U.K.; Khair heads Citizen Global Talent initiatives.

“Our executive team is dedicated to growth, both building the business for our long-standing clients, as well as expanding our agency’s base of business and growing our talented leadership team and staff,” said McCullough. “Our vision for Citizen is to be the most inspiring agency to work for and collaborate with. We have long been a great mid-sized North American and U.K. agency, but we are experiencing tremendous demand and opportunities that take our brand further in capability and geography. We are entering important new markets with our growing offerings in corporate brand, reputation, digital strategies and services, ROI-led analytics and other social and traditional media communications services.”
